Mini Wars April 2026 Live Build Recap — Air Power Tuning
The April 2026 patch trimmed Black Hawk burst, buffed Tank Base offense, and added Border Tower coverage previews. A focused balance pass — here is what mid-tier players need to know.
Smaller patch than May, bigger meta read. The April 2026 Air Power Tuning was the developer admitting publicly that pure Air Rush had stopped being a counterable strategy in the March meta — and the response was a measured trim rather than a hammer. Here is what shipped and how it actually plays out at the table.
§Headline changes
- Black Hawks: damage profile re-tuned, fewer one-shot trades against fortified defenses.
- Tank Base: offense raised to retain combined-arms relevance.
- Border Tower: placement preview now shows coverage radius before purchase.
- General cooldowns slightly reduced after defeat to encourage re-engagement.
§What the Black Hawk nerf actually did
In practice, the April nerf made the second Air Base mandatory rather than optional. Pre-patch, a single Air Base plus two Missile Launchers could break most economy targets. Post-patch, the same comp stalls against any defender with a fortified Bunker — you need the second Air Base for the burst to actually finish the job. This is why the April-May meta has settled on the canonical "two Air Bases + two Missile Launchers" comp documented in the Air Rush Conquest Playbook.
§Tank Base — viable again, not dominant
The offense buff brought the Tank Base back into combined-arms compositions but did not make it a solo-carry plan. You still want Black Hawks for the burst pathing; the Tank Base is the cleanup unit that takes territory after the air strike softens it. The Air Base Meta Guide covers the pairing in depth.
General cooldown reduction is the under-reported change. If you are running a defensive General, you can re-engage roughly 15% faster post-defeat now — meaningful for late-game counter-invasion windows.
